What is Earth Night?

Earth Night is a fundraising initiative from DJs For Climate Action harnessing the global power of music and nightlife to generate climate action. We use the power of electronic music, its history and community to celebrate the earth. As a celebration, we invite venues, promotors, DJs and dancers to join Earth Night and make it happen locally. Our 7th annual edition will take place over April 18-21, 2024 during the week of Earth Day. This global fundraising event is meant to: raise awareness of climate issues and solutions in the electronic and nightlife space. Raise funds for DJs for Climate Action and our efforts. Raise funds locally through our flagship events worldwide.

NOTE: As a condition to official Earth Night participation, partners are asked to set up a donation system through tickets sales, bar revenue, and/or DJs donating a % of their fees directly too DJS4CA. Please note that the % of the net profits to be donated to DJS4CA is up to you and that you are encouraged to donate additional funds locally as well. Cool, I work at a venue, how can I make Earth Night happen in my venue?

Amazing! We welcome all sorts of venues to host / organize an Earth Night event. We have a set of guidelines for venues right here.

Cool! I’m a promoter and want to organize something for Earth Night, what do I do?

I’m an artist / DJ, but I don’t produce events. How can I still be part of Earth Night?

Even if you don’t host an event, you can be part of the movement. We have our DJ / Artist guidelines right here for you!

What is the deadline to apply?

As a venue, promotor or DJ, you can register your event here. The deadline to register is Feb 23rd, 24:00 EST.

I just like to dance and go to parties. What can I do to support?

Whatever the event is, even if at a smaller scale, counts as an Earth Night event. Can you get creative? we have guidelines for you, as well. You dan directly donate to DJS for Climate here.

What makes an Earth Night / regenerative event?

You can create an event from scratch, or make sure an event you have already booked complies with at least TWO of the suggestions in our guidelines.

• Be plastic free
• Have a local and diverse line-up, no flights.
• Use renewable energy
• Offer plant based food

Ok! I want to organize an Earth Night event. Do I need to comply with ALL the guidelines? What are the rules?

We know that not everyone has access to renewable energy, but we expect all events to activate at least TWO of the guidelines above in order to be part of Earth Night 2024.

Can my event take place at another time / another weekend?

Events should take place over the week of 18 - 21 April, 2024 in order to be part of the Earth Night festivities.

How can I raise funds?

Here are some ideas:

• Ticket sales: set aside % of ticket entry fees. Let people know in advance, it might help promote the event.
• Add an option for people to give a donation to Earth Night when buying tickets online.
• Donate a portion of the bar sales.
• Drink specials or a drink offer with all sales going to fundraising.
• Offer DJs the chance to volunteer their set and donate a percentage, or all their fee for the night! This empowers them to use their craft to benefit the cause.

Where does the money go?

We ask that a % of your funding goes to our foundation DJS4CA so that we can continue our mission of harnessing the power music to inspire and sprout change in the pursuit of climate justice. You can donate to DJs4CA here.

How do I make an Earth Night event happen?

We’re not here to control how you make your event happen, but once we’ve confirmed your participation, you will receive a promo kit to help partygoers understand the Earth Night mission and see that they are part of something bigger. We will also being sending out optional promotional materials for print and social media as we get closer to Earth Night weekend.
